Is it ok or normal if the dubias are LITERALLY eating the water gels/crystals? I have some water beads I bought from walmart and the roaches just eat them all! I was thinking, if the roaches eat that, wouldn't it affect my dragon's health?

This is why the cricket water gutloads often work better for this application; all feeder insects will eat the water cubes. Crickets will actually consume the water bites as well. Might as well give them a water option that also gutloads them!

I am not sure how it will affect your beardie. Check the package to make sure it's non toxic, safe for pets, along those lines. If it doesn't specify, I would personally stop offering them. If I remember correctly, those water beads are designed for keeping flowers fresh instead of leaving them sitting in water, and they may not be designed to be safe for animal consumption.

Thanks. Well yes, the beads are for flowers and whatnot and it says it's organic or something like that. But I don't understand, everybody here seems to use the water crystals with their roaches.
I can, and maybe will buy the Cricket gel or cubes, but I want to know if the roaches of other people eat the crystals too.

The gel actually breaks down in a roach`s system. As long as they are pesticide free, non toxic and no added junk then you are fine.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
