I keep hearing that dubias are illegal to own in Canada and especially my province (Alberta). Does anyone know where I could find out the actual law? Google just keeps bringing me to the same question I am asking haha I know for a fact that Alberta is pretty tight on "pest control" we can't even own a rat! If you travel here with one, you need to get a 24h permit and get it out of the province within that time frame and then you're "monitored" over the course of a few weeks to make sure you don't bring another. So I don't want to get in trouble for ordering a few dubia. :(

I wasn't sure if I should have posted this in the Canada section or here...

It seems the Plant Protection Laws cover some roaches but not dubias. But these lists and others I saw were for the import of insects.

Thanks for the links, but I found a few yesterday. One was a threaded email between a woman and the "bug police" haha and it said that dubias/other insects (wasn't really paying attention to those) are illegal to import, own, breed, etc. And you can't get a permit. But I know a few people who do have dubias so I was thinking of maybe just getting a few and try a small colony but at the same time I don't want a huge fine!! My friend was fined $3500 for a rat, so I can't imagine a colony of dubia would go over well. :(

I need a new staple for my beardies. crickets are dying so quickly and they seem to get smellier and smellier as time goes on even with bi weekly cleaning.

do you know where I could get those!?
I order from bugorder and they don't have them (we've never had any problems with them) so I'd like a reputable site please :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
