Dubia Feeding Questions

1) How often do you change your dish of chow?

2)Do you moisten your chow at all or just leave it as dry and powdery?

3)What is your normal staple that you include in your colony besides chow? I use orange, apple, and potato slices.

4)Any supplements? If so, do I need to use these supplements right now if I won't be feeding out of the colony until November?

Hi John ! Okay I keep the kibble dry, but offer fresh veggie ends each day, and at least once a week 1/2 an orange , as well as a dish for water crystals.
If you offer the oranges more than weekly, when you see that it is nothing but skin, that should be more than enough for hydration. You can hold off on the supplements until a week before you want to feed. Then just follow the same routine as if supplementing a dragon.

They were horribly thirsty last night since it was the first time after shipping, 1/4 of an orange gone in 5 hours maybe?
So I threw another slice in today just to be safe.
Mouth is fine, no swelling, no pain. Now it's just a matter of figuring out what the hell to eat for the next several days.

And for the record, a 30 gal Sterilite tub, with a 11.5 ft 15 watt Repti Heat Cable between it and 12" x 12" ceramic tile = perfect heating.

Citrus is suppose to make them grow faster but when I did experiments it didnt seem to have to high of an effect on the growth. Just make sure that whatever you put in doesnt rot and mold, you will get tons of gnats in there!

Yeah I think anything I set in there should get a day at the most.
So far so good though, still psyched about this kit Chris, haha.
