Dubia Destruction

Okay well this is just a little story of what I managed to pull of the other day. I pulled my roach bin out and set it on top of a Styrofoam box near my beardie cage to clean it out a little and refresh their water/food. First I pull a few out to feed my beardies , and wait till their done eating. And then I give the roaches clean lids and fresh water crystals and food. I even give them some fresh lettuce,carrots,squash and strawberries!! Then I move everything around in my roach bin, making it all nice and neat for my dubia's liking. :mrgreen: I was so pleased with how well I did everything and was all happy my roach bin was nice a neat! All finished I climb up on my chair to get into my beardies cage and take out her roach bowl [since she was finished]. A little absent minded I happen to knock over my clean open roach bin spilling it all over the floor!!! Oh the horror!!! I frantically grab the egg crates and toss them back into the bin and start grabbing roaches [ which I normal do not] and tossing them back in the bin. Luckily most stayed in the egg crates so I only had to grab about a dozen or so by hand, one was an adult female though and she was fiesty! :shock: I was so upset everything was a total mess in the bin again :x worse than its ever been. Food was every where ...water crystals scattered... roaches upset.. me..upset I just closed the lid to the bin and left them. :| I clean it all over again another day...just thought I would share with everyone the trouble I went threw for my beardies.

That's certainly one way of overcoming the fear of touching them!

I would do something like that quite easily Still chuckling now.

OMG ..the hairs on the back of my neck are standing STRAIGHT UP just THINKING of this happening to me! While I would probaby do the same thing and grab to scoop them up - the CHILLS I'm getting just THINKING of this ..oh my! Good laugh though - that hysterical afraid laugh!

That's like my worst fear! Not because I'm afraid of picking up roaches... I hold them for fun all the time. But I would be afraid of them getting away and hiding somewhere and then running across the floor when I least expect it... Or accidentally stepping on one in the middle of the night.... AHHH! So I'm very careful with my roaches. Lol. Not to mention I wouldn't want to stress them and make females drop egg sacks.
