Dubia colony too crowded?

I've had this colony for 6 months now, this is the 3rd time I've counted and things are looking good! My question is how many do you feel can comfortably fit in a 30gal sterilite tote? I did a count and have 106 females, weeded down to 34 males, and ~1,760 nymphs. I'm limited in space but think that I could talk my family into letting me have 2 bins and splitting the colony in two if they are too crowded in the tote they are in right now. The pictures below are of the last couple cartons so are a bit more jam packed than when I pulled out the first ones.

I had more than you did in my bins. Roaches seen to do better with a lot of them in there. If you wanted to make things easier for you I would just move all of the small nymphs to a new one with some frass and let your other bin continue to breed.

Oh, and be careful about feeding too many of your males. Remember that their lifespan is much shorter than the female and it will take 6 months for them to turn to adults again.

I try to keep a decent amount in there. When I let them go to more 1:2 or 1:3 the males were fighting and trying to escape. I'd hear them climbing to the top of the crates and thumping against the lid of the bin all night trying to get away. It was kinda scary at first hearing it.
