Dubia breeding

Would keeping the adult roaches in a different bin than the rest of the colony have any effect on their breeding speed?

I ask because I have 43 female and 13 males in their own bin with heater and have not seen any babies, well not alive at least, in 22 days now. Could it be they are all very near the same stage of pregnancy and I should expect a whole mess of babies in the next six days? I have 96 on the bin floor with an inferred temp gun and 91 ambient about 3 inches above with a digital probe and the other side sits at about 83

I did pull out 5 dried up white babies 15 days ago. Could those have died in the moms pouch?

The average Dubia will have 30 babies every 30 days. If they've been stressed, it can sometimes delay delivery and the first batch of babies may take up to 6 weeks. Be patient, young grasshopper. You have uilt it. They will come.

I notice that you have a good male to female ratio for a starter colony. As your population density increases becuase you have more and more roaches reaching adulthood, I'd recommend one male for every 5 females. Too many males harass the females and they start playing hard to get, reducing the number of babies you get. The best way to do this is to feed your extra males to your dragon(s) on a regular basis.

I have a colony of about 400 mixed in one bin and and I pull the adults for my breeding colony from there when they mature. I pull the female about 4 to five days after turning completely dark and I pull one male to every 3 to 4 females. There are a ton of adult males in the normal colony cause my dragons are not large enough to eat them yet! They are only about 13 inches long I just weighed them one 116 grams and the other 138 grams.
