So what would be a better option? I have a ZooMed heat pad, and a 60 watt CHE. The heating pad makes the ambient temperature about 90, but contact temps are over 100. However, the CHE box says it gets up to 95 degrees within 6 inches of the bulb. I disassembled a dome light so I could use the socket. (Basically just took the dome off.) I installed the ceramic socket on the interior by drilling a hole in one end of the tub theyre in and went from there. This basically eliminated any high contact temps. So I'm sure this is a better route. Just thought I'd still ask lol
