Hi all,
My name is Sabrina, but my friends call me Bri. I'm from Southeast Louisiana and am just about to turn 35 (next month ). I've loved reptiles my whole life, but wasn't able to have any until recently. I've had other exotic pets, but I always wanted a beardie. I did about 2 months of research and still managed to get the wrong setup (darn Petsmart  ).
I got my first beardie on Memorial Day (May 28th) I named him Draco the First. He was so cute, he armwaved at me and went from side to side in the front of the glass. I helpful (well not so helpful) girl got him out of the cage (grabbing him quite hard in the process, but she was studing to be a herpologist so I figured she knew what she was doing  ). Then she proceeded to tell me not to feed the baby for a few days to get him to eat the "bearded dragon food". Well the first night he did eat 1 cricket, but he didn't eat anything after that. I figured it may have just been stress and I kept trying different foods (crickets, greens etc.) with no luck. I came home the next tuesday and found him unresponsive and gone . Not really knowing what happened to him I brought him back to the Petsmart that I purchased him from and got a refund (I didn't want to even see the wonderful salesperson again).
Here is Draco in the one good photo I got of him...
We (mom and myself) went to the other Petsmart to get a new dragon. We got Draco the Second (aka Draco). The employee at this one was very gentle with the baby and I have him ever since. He's now approx. 6 months old and is now 15 1/2 inches . He is my resident piggie and will eat anything you put in his tank (crickets, dubia, phoenix/reptiworms, and any veggies).
This is him the first week we had him...
and this is him last week (chillin on mommy) ...
.
Then in August we went to Repticon (just to buy crickets) and found the most beautiful baby ever. I was going to walk away, but mom (the enabler) wanted a new granddragon . So we got Hermione (aka Miney). She is now about 3 months old and is approx. 8 inches. She's a little pickier about eating (loves her dubias and greens, will tolorate phoenix worms, not to fond of crickets).
Her she is the day we got her...
and this week...
Then last week I went to Petsmart (just to get crickets) and came across a Fancy Bearded in their cages. She appeared to be pink (my favorite color) and was tiny. They had her with 3 "regular" babies. They were all about the same size. But I resisted the urge to bring her home. In getting the crickets I was talking to the girl about the baby and my babies. She could tell that I was thinking about the little one. So before I could leave she "forced" me to hold the baby. I noticed that all her nails are clear and her shoulders are not solid black (they're grayish). She kept putting the other babies in my hand to show the difference in their colors. At one point I had three in my hand . I went home with just crickets, but the baby was still in my head. I dreamed about her that night and thought about her at work the next day (that was thursday). On my way home I was chatting with mom and couldn't stop talking about the baby. She (again being the enabler) finally said you're gonna go get her aren't you? Well that was enough for me, I went back to the store and got her. Her name is Nymphadora (aka Tonks). She's being a picky eater (still stressed about the relocation).
Here she is the day I got her...
and a few days ago...
Draco has his on tank, the girls are sharing a 40 gallon (with a divider in the middle). I want to build all of them new vivs, just gotta convince my uncle to help me (I'm not really good with tools  ).
I just realized it's past the babies bed time (and mine  ) so I better get offline to put them to sleep
Bri
