Droopy eye sockets

Hello.
I have had my beardie for a while now. He's about 6 months old. He's been doing great. Eating well, pooping pretty regularly and I soak him weekly. I recently noticed that his eye sockets are alittle droopy. Is this a sign of dehydration? I cant get him to drink any water so I offer lots of veges and fruits (from the "approved" list) and he eats alot if it. He gets plenty of bugs too.

The only change we've made was purchase a brand new (larger) cage. He did stress alittle at the change but he seemed to have adjusted. We also added a store bought - half hollowed log that he sleeps underneath at night and basks on top of during the day. I just cant figure it out. Any ideas?

Thanks

I do know that their lower eyelids can naturally droop (it's genetic), and maybe it's just coincidentally showing up now? I'm not sure if drooping is possibly indicative of a problem, but this post should bump ya :)
Good luck! <3

I was reading droopy eyelids can be kidney failure. Sunken eyes are usually dehydration. I was researching this because my new bearded has sunken eyes, and I can't tell if they are droopy or not :(

Droopy eyes may or may not be a sign of dehydration, it's very unlikely he's going in to kidney failure though. Since he only gets one bath a week, up it to every other day, and dribble the water on his nose to get him to drink. You can also use a spray bottle to gently spray a little water on his nose, or use an eyedropper.

Thanks guys.
I'll up the baths and see how that works. He really seems healthy otherwise.

The lower eyelids sorta sag down and its only happened very recently, they dont appear to be sunken. I couldnt think of any other condition that could do this - in any animal for that matter. Definetly glad to know its probably not kidney failure..I mean after all the time, love and expense Im sinking into him.. :( . It would be so sad as I wouldnt be able to do much about that.

Any other thoughts, feel free to throw them out there.

what kind of light do you use. When I first got my beardie I read all about the different brands of lighting and one of them..I want to say it was Reptisun 10.0 bulb was pretty bad. I could be wrong about it being that one, but read up on the bulb you have!!!!

Stella has those droopy hounddog eyes too, ever since she was a baby. Totally just genetic.

Your dragon is only 6 months old, so I really, really doubt it's kidney problems.

A better way to tell if he is dehydrated is to lightly pinch the loose skin on his back and then let go - if it stays pinched up, he's dehydrated. If it smoothes back down quickly, then he's hydrated. :D

I dont think Zorro would let me pinch his back..I wish he would!! LOL.
Looking at his poo though, I would say he's pretty well dehydrated. If he doesnt poo by the second day - hes in the tub for a soak! He's not a fan of them but has learned to deal with them.

Those eyes...what can I say...some days they are not so bad and other days they tend to be more pronounced. I really dont like them like that but he's been behaving normally and eating well. Ive not heard anything bad about the reptisun bulbs and everything is pretty new and on timers. I just keep a close eye on him daily for any unusual changes. (I thought these guys were low maintenance!....NOT!) LOL!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
