Ok so I've had my female dragon Spotty since last March. She's always been a heavy eater and we really had no problems with her. She ate crickets, wax worms occasionaly, greens, raspberries, dubias, and even the commercial bearded dragon food. About three months ago though, she started sleeping all of the time and hardly eats. Every once and awhile she'll have random bursts of energy and stays up running around her tank. She hasn't really lost any weight or anything. She loves being held and is completly fine out of the tank just in the tank all she wants to do is sleep. We haven't ran a fecal or anything yet because she hasn't pooped in awhile and im starting to get concerned.
She lives in a 40 gal. viv with a mercury sun light bulb. The cool side of her tank ranges from anywhere between 74F to 78F. The warm side of her tank is always between 85F to 90F and her basking rock, even though she is never on it, stays at about 103F. At night time, we use the ceramic heat emitter which keeps the tank at 76F. We check that with the probe thermometer not the stick on kind. The substrate is a tile substrate, and all she has in her tank is her bed I made her, her basking rock, her food dishes, a hammick, and some climbing stuff. Her lights come on at 6:30 and go off anywhere between 9:30 to 10.
We give her liquid calcium, I'm not sure how much since my fiancee is the one who takes care of that, just so that we know she's getting atleast something. She's not the same little dragon she used to be. If she does eat, its usually some soy yogurt that we by for her and about once a week she may eat a superworm or dubia depending on her mood but it is only ever one. We bath just about everyday to keep her hydrated since she won't even touch her veggies that she used to love. i'm setting up an appointment with the vet today finally since we finally have the money for anything that needs done, although we still can't do a fecal since she hasn't pooped. Last time we took her about 4 months ago everything was fine. The vet even told us that she is one of the healthiest and happiest dragons he has ever seen and told us not to change a thing, which we haven't. Could this be beardie brumation or is something else I should ask the vet about?
