I posted some intro pics here. But, I just wanted to share a little story with you. A couple weeks after we got Saffron, we had her out, determined to get her used to being held and calm. Well, she was just as determined to prove us incapable. She was hanging out on my husband for a good 20 minutes. Then she took a very slow step towards his shoulder. A few seconds later, another one - this time looking around. One more step, looks right at me to the right, and goes flying off Husband's shoulder. Well, leave it to the Siamese,Ninja, to think this is THE most exciting thing to happen to him ever. He starts chasing her, I start chasing him, he runs away from me (stepping on Saffron in the process I might add). Ninja being successfully derailed, I then go chasing after Saffron. I chase her into a corner at the exact same time Ninja realizes his new game is still gong on, and he bolts in after me. I scruff my 15 lb Snow-show Siamese (on a cat note, if you're looking to get a dainty small siamese cat, do NOT get a snowshoe. Turns out the white foot gene makes them prone to being HUGE), and remove him, then come back and get Saffron.
Now she's perfectly content to just sit on me and chill, and even has the nerve to tilt her head up at me and give me a "What?" look. Not wanting to risk it, I place her back in her viv. For the following 15 minutes my Siamese went over every INCH of the corner (twice) where I'd picked her up, and then spent half an hour doing a thorough inspection of the living room, positive the new moving toy was still out there. At one point he found a piece of packing tape with some thing cardboard on it and thought it was her, so he stalked around it for a while before pouncing and, having met his predatory instincts for the night, came to snuggle in my lap.
Perhaps it was more amusing being there, but it was definitely a fun little time.
Anyone one else have any funny stories of your beards and furry animal interaction?
