Hello,

Did you literally cover the eggs with the sand? You need to place them on top of the sand as covering them too compactly could damage them. They will be fine for a short bit, but you do need to get them incubated properly at 83-84 degrees with around 80% humidity or so to keep them from drying out.
Oh are they fertile I assume?

u can get a aquarium and fell it with 2 inches of water then but the eggs in a ribber maid container with moist vermiculite with holes punches in the lid or sides and heat the incubator with a heat lamp

the eggs will have to be 85-90 degrees and have 60-70% humidity

good luck

thanks for the advice.i have a polystyrene box similar to the ones used for the transpotation of tropical fish.
i will pick up some vermiculite up in the morning and i take it a fish tank heater will be ok to heat the water like you would with a tropical tank, within the poly box?
re the sand i just sprinkled the sand over the eggs which weren`t buried in an effort to keep them warm.

i have looked on a couple of sites, the eggs are pure white,so i take it from the sites that they are ok at present.
one mentions that if they are not fertile they will turn yellow and will collapse after a week.

Hello,

Yes, it does sound like the eggs are fertile right now. They will collapse if they dry out also, & will discolor if they go bad too. Good luck, try to get them set up properly as soon as you can.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
