Dragon bites...?

Hey guys, so my dragon LOVES eating dragon bites. I try to feed him a little bit before he eats (not much, only a few bites) and he dives right for them and eats his dubia like normal. His...droppings, however, are green. He isn't struggling to go to the bathroom, it's just not the usual. Is this a bad thing? The Dragon Bites seem to be very nutritional and he really does love eating the little things.

Thanks all!

It is. When my babies eat more pellets or greens, their poop is green. When they eat carrots, there's orange bits. It's just the dye in the dragon bites.

I figured it was just the dye, but the smell is...crappy. but not in a horrid " oh wow what did you eat" sorta way. I'm attempting to motivate my two beardies by putting the dragon bites in with greens, one is two months old and the other is about 5 and they do not touch their green so maybe this will motivate them a little.

Neither are having problems going to the bathroom, either, so I guess until they are fully hooked on the greens i'll just give them some dragon bites along with a bit of greens and their roaches. Is this a good idea or should I be handling this differently?

Don't worry - those Beardie Bites are known for making the poop bright green! Perfectly normal.

Is it unhealthy to feed them it so often though? They never eat greens so i'm attempting to appease them by mixing it all together. I don't see how it could be bad for them, considering the ingredients in the Dragon Bites.

I don't think it is bad. I have never heard of anything bad from feeding it. Mine I know hate those though. They won't even go to lick them. It so funny how every beardie is so different. :)

Yeah, I never have either, I'm just using it as a greens replacement..considering my two little smarties will eat everything BUT the greens. They LOVE dragon bites though, and the pellets..must be the texture, silly little things. :)

Hopefully they begin to eat greens soon, they're still extremely young though.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
