so my new adoption that i've had for a week now did something odd today, i was teaching her how to drink water which by the way worked incredibly well to my suprise! stuck her in front of the water bowl, put some water on her nose and swished the water around and she just started going at it licking up water, it was pretty cute. so then after she got bored of that she decided to go into the bowl, stuck her head down into it and then climbed out of the bowl and preceeded to drag her belly and bottom of her head on the bottom of her cage and then did it again a few more times.

seems strange to me, i was thinking maybe shes gravid but i somehow doubt it, shes 1 year old and i cannot see or feel eggs in her belly at all.

was she just being silly or has someone else encounter this before?

here is a picture of her, shes real healthy, eats and basks a lot and is a very gentle girl in general.

yeah i was kind of thinking the same thing, she got a bath yesterday so i'm not sure why she felt compelled to put her whole body in the bowl and dip her head into it, when she gets baths she never puts her head into the water, she usually just inflates and floats for a bit :)

Ha! Mine does that too! :D When I cut up Dora's greens, I always wash them and leave some water on for her so she gets some extra water (no water dish to keep the humidity down). Unfortunately, often there's a little puddle of water on the bottom of the plate. Dora often climbs onto the plate to eat, and in the process gets a little damp. One day there was an excess of water on the plate and she jumped out and dragged herself all around the tank. I was worried that she had hurt her legs, but once she deemed herself dry enough she jumped right back in! I think it's one of those things like, "Oh, this feels good! Wait. No it doesn't."

When she was dragging herself around, did it look like she could be swimming?

I know one of my girls likes to 'swim' around her tank after she's been in the bath, or misted a bit.

Just another option maybe she is getting ready to shed and it is itchy, she might just be trying to speed up the process.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
