down to 3 roaches

So I was gifted a colony of dubia roaches and things started off pretty simple. Make sure they have food and veggies for hydration. But they didn't seem to be breeding. Only one out of the four females I had gave birth. So I fed them they grew and the fattest ones were fed to my beardie. But it seems like they aren't breeding at all anymore. And since my beardie needs to eat, I fed her accordingly. Fattest roaches were sent to meet their deaths. But now I'm only down to 3 roaches. One male and two females. My plan is to feed them to her and start over, but what can I do to make sure the next colony grows so I dont run out again?

You need to order a colony, and feed/water them and don't disturb them. Buy separate feeders while the colony is producing.

How big was the colony and when did you get it? It takes about a month for the female to incubate her eggs and have the babies. They also need to be kept warm and a little humid to breed, otherwise they slow way down.

When you establish a colony you can all feed off only or mostly males to help bolster the female population.

I'm going to guesstimate the colony was about 100 or more roaches when it got here. I began feeding her the small juicy ones. Some of them had died in the shipping process though.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
