A couple of weeks ago Gertrude was found to have pinworms in her sample. They didn't give me a count but said it wasn't bad at this point.
So, last week, they started her on Panacur and Ditrim. Her dosages were as follows..
0.2ml Panacur on day one
0.2ml Panacur 2 weeks later for a total of 2 doses.
0.2ml of Ditrim per day for 3 days then 0.2ml every other day after that for 5 doses (total of 8 doses).
Ok, so, here is my question.
After she was diagnosed and her meds were issued, she laid six eggs. She weighed around 390 grams when she was diagnosed. I don't know what she weighs now as I don't have a scale that is sensitive enough to weigh her.
Do I need to adjust the dosage of either the Ditrim or the Panacur since she weighs less now? If so, is there a way to figure it out?
Unfortunately, there aren't many herp doctors in my area and the one I took her to only seems to be in a couple of days a week. I called Friday but he was out for the week and the other vets there weren't any help. I took the chance and gave her the two doses of Ditrim (Friday and Sunday) that she was due but I don't want to keep giving it to her if the dose is too high.
Also, are there any other vets in Pittsburgh I can go to that have more consistent hours? I'm just outside of downtown but most of my travels are either North or West of the city. I'll go where I need to, though, to get her the proper care.
Thanks.
