How do you raise a basking spot temp more. i am thinking his shaking is he is occasionally cold but hi basking has been at 94 the last few days. Occasionally drops to 89 with this weather. i won't feed him his meals unless he is at at least 92 on the warm side.

Also for a 9-11 week old would 104 be too warm? Daughter thought it was the other day

104 is a perfect temperature...

Shaking is not because of coldness though it's usually MBD.

Are you giving calcium supplements? I honestly think he has MBD especially with the crappy owner from the beginning.

Hello,

He will not be able to digest his food at temps under 95 really. The recommended basking ranges are 95-110.
What are you using to measure the temps with? A stick on thermometer, a digital probe or a temp gun?
How is he doing today?
Yes, the shaking is indicative of calcium problems. He will need calcium 5 times per week right now.

He isn't shaking. He does get his calcium 5 times a day, plus his vitamins. Right now I'm measuring the temp with a temp gauge posted by his basking spot. He's doing great after his soak and clean out. Eating again and being all perky and fiesty.

Hello,

No worries. I don't know why we thought your beardie was shaking! I am glad that he isn't.
How is he doing now & how are the temps coming along? What are the temps now?
Great that he is eating & active now. Let us know how things are going & if you need any other help.
Oh he only needs calcium 5 times per week. :D

I've got a little portable heater that I use for bringing up the temp now when it seems to be dipping too low, and I've started turing on the lamp next to his tank for extra white light for him (it's just a household bulb). I've been getting the temps up to 100-105. I appreciate everyone's help and concern! :)

Hello,

Great that you got the temps up! It sounds like he is doing well then. A regular household lightbulb is fine for basking, they get hot enough. :D
Let us know if you need anything.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
