Sunny is my almost 9month old female, She's always waving at our male Frank and does the slow bow to him too. Well tonight something crazy happened and I would like to know what it means. Usually when she sees Frank roaming by her cage she does everything I stated, well tonight she started head bobbing at him like he does to her and her beard was almost as black as his gets, I've never ever seen her get a black beard I didn't know she was capable. Sunny was going crazy at him, head bobbing like a male with a jet black beard for a good ten minutes. She's definitely a female, so was this her just fighting him for dominance, or should I be worried? My boyfriend also said he saw her head bobbing the other day while she was playing without a black beard though...

*laughing* Yep, it happens. Tsammy loves a dominant female - he's a german giant that just begs to be told off by a brave beardie lady. I'm hoping Jam will grow into the girl to put him in line - she's already in charge of the other ladies when they're having an evening run-around.

She did once get carried away and bash him in the back of the head; his knees went all melty in the middle and he flopped in a big splat on the floor.

(Don't worry, the boys don't normally run around at the same time - I was testing my theory and keeping close watch)

Hahaha Thank you for replying. I kind of figured I got lucky and got myself a little diva, but it was so out of character for her that I was a little bit concerned that it might be something else. Sunny has always been sassy, but I've never seen her with a black beard or head bobbing. I know we're supposed to be intimidated when they do that because they're acting big and tough, but I can't help laughing at her. It's adorable and so silly to see my chubby sweet heart put Frank in his place.
Your babies seem like a handful too! Never a dull moment I'm sure!

They certainly keep me entertained. Jammy has the finest black beard I've ever seen on a yellow beardie - though my male Tsammy has the BIGGEST beard.

Most of the time everyone is ok - they've got their own little heirarchy. Tsam is BOSS. Jam is feisty and will challenge anyone. Sandy is patient older female that sits on impudent little dragons. Mocha is the quiet, shy rescue, mostly overlooked by the other dragons - and Hyphen is bottom of the pile.

Poor boy made the mistake of trying to take on Tsam when I took my eye off him for a second. Tsam's three times Hyphen's size, so little Hyph promptly got slung across the floor by the tail - but it serves him right for being cheeky and trying to show off. He knows to keep WELL out of the big guy's way now.

Sandy and Jam constantly argue when they're allowed out together - Sandy, being older and wiser, lets the bolshy Jam tire herself out displaying and tail grabbing - and then sits on her.

You weren't kidding, your babies are incredibly entertaining! It's great you can let them out to play together, or at least roaming at the same time with supervision. I'm hoping once baby Chloe is big enough her and Sunny can come out together, but who knows with the way Sunny has been acting. She's not taking any crap from Frank, she's going head to head for alpha beardie!! hahahha

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
