Dog question?

i have a really quick question i cleaned my dragons poop and threw it in a bag by his tank. I left home and when i got back i found that my dog had gotten a hold of the bag, ripped it and ate the poop of the dragons right out of the paper i cleaned it with. Is this bad can they get salmonella from it or anything else?

I don't know. Keep an eye on your dog and see if anything comes up.

Dogs can't get salmonella due to the digestive track. It's very short. Many people have their dogs on a raw diet, and give alot of raw chicken. He can get coccidia (sp?) , or other worms.

Coccidia can only be transfered to other bearded dragons.
But I agree, if your beardie has some type of worms or parasites your dog may be at risk of getting them as well.
Maybe taking a fecal sample (from the beardie) down to the vet might not be a bad idea...
Most dragons do have coccidia though, but like I said it will only be transfered to other beardies.

I'm sure they can get it, but if a beardie has it, it won't be transfered from that beardie to another animal. At least that's what my vet told me. I'm hoping it can't be transfered from a beardie to another animal because I have quite a few pets here...

Treating them for coccidia?
I'm currently treating mine for it right now.
The vet gave me some medication that I'm giving him every 12 hours for 2 days, then I have to do the same thing in 3 weeks.

My dog is about 15 months old so hopefully hes immune system fights if off it he caught the virus.

it's not a virus, its an intestinal parasite. Yes- dogs can get coccidia. Yes- its the same for reptiles as it is for people. There are some intestinal parasites, like pinworms, that reptiles get but reptiles don't. All you need to do is take in a stool sample for your dog to see if he has any intestinal parasites.
