Hi Jasmine, sorry that your poor beardie [ is it Bowen ? ] had this encounter ! One of the best things you can put on it is unpasteurized honey, the kind from a health food store or beekeeper. It's a natural antibacterial/antibiotic and often promotes healing faster than other a.b.creams. If you want to read about it, just Google " honey on pet wounds ". You can dilute it with a bit of warm water + apply with a Q-tip a couple times a day. It's used on humans as well. Hopefully he will heal quickly but if you DO use the honey make sure there are no loose crickets in the tank to get on his wounds.

In addition to what AHBD said in the other post, you can soak him in a weak solution of betadine and water, the solution should look like weak tea. You can use Neosporin until you get the honey, just make sure its not got any pain killers in it. It looks to me like a bad abrasion and not so much scratches from a dog. Looks like he got under something and couldn't get out to well and in getting out scraped his back pretty good. I don't see any definitive scratch marks but an overall abrasion. Keep an eye on it for infection, otherwise he should do fine.

kk thank you for the info. :) and it was my dog. he came barlying down the stairs like he ran a marathon and he could be heard outside of the house barking at him. he trashed my bathroom getting to him. also i have my room beardie proofed anything he can get under there is no way to get stuck everything is either touching the floor or three inches or more above the ground. and he was in a open space in the middle of the room compeletly blacked bearded out. it took him three hours to calm his beard.. thankfully my dogs only a botson terrier so short snout and short nails. thank you for the tips though much much appreciated :D

You are welcome and sorry your dog got to him. It just looks abrasive to me. I think he will be fine but may take a while for him to fully recover as beardies are slow to heal.

yeah it looks abrasive to me till you stare at it and see the lines that follow from top to bottom. gizmo(the dog) keeps his nails rounded over by chewing on them.... and as long as he gets better thats all i care about. :) hes my grumpy butt for sure lol

You can see that bad old Gizmo was pawing + scratching at him....it's really red and there's even a small wound on his back leg. It should heal up fine, though. Beardies are pretty resistant to infections and their wounds generally heal quite well.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
