I have two hides my beardie can choose to sleep in but chooses to sleep in the corner, usually under her plant or behind the hide. Is this normal? Does she not like the hide and should i get a new one? I wonder if its cooler in the corner because i keep a 60 watt night light in the middle of the cage. it stays around 75-82 degrees at night. should i just turn off the light at night? i keep my house 73-75 degrees at night so it wouldnt get that cold. any suggestions?

I don't really have any hides for my dragons except for the basking ramp for one of my dragons that is kind of like a hide. None of my dragons have a spot they like to sleep in. They pretty much sleep in different places each night. I wouldn't worry about you dragon not using the hide. They each have their own personalities, likes and dislikes.

I definitely agree! Bindy likes to sleep in the corner on one of her rocks. She sometimes sleeps on the ground if she doesn't get off the ground before lights out. She's kinda goofy that way. They sleep wherever they chose to sleep! (Or, if the lights go out, they fall asleep right where they are.)

Norris has two hides and has ignored them pretty much completely except as something to climb on. He likes to sleep on his basking spot almost 100% of the time but some days he surprises us and is in some weird spot or another.

My beardie has been sleeping on his perch since I brought him home last week & tonight he's sleeping on the floor in a corner. He never sleeps in his hide. I'm glad this is normal - I was a little concerned...

yeah me too.. i have only seen her sleep in her hide like 5 times. i used to get excited to find her in the hide but now im used to her sleeping on the carpet usually under her plant, although last night she slept half under her basking hide which was cool i thought. i have another hide one of those 3 level hides and actually found her on the second level once which i had to take pictures of. but its very rare anymore to see her show interest in her hides. im thinking of getting one of those half logs and try that out but probably just another waste of $15 lol

well they pretty much do as they please!!!!! I have a corner cave and she will occassionally sleep in there if she feels like it! She used to sleep standing on her hind legs in the corner so whatever floats their boats!

Spike has one of those half logs. I've only seen him in it once. I'm considering taking it out, it takes up so much space, and just putting in more stuff for him to climb. He either sleeps on his branches, rocks or on the floor.

when she was smaller she would sleep at the top of her plant and did this for months until she got larger and doesnt want to climb it anymore.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
