At lights out me and steve are friends, but ever since he started his shed 6 days ago he's been grumpy all day. Before his shed I noticed a little spot on the right side of his face I wasn't sure was normal, when i put a bit of raw honey on it he wasn't happy, I did the honey on his face another 2 days before he began his full shed because it appeared that it was a bit of loose shed. today he opened his mouth and hissed at me when i went to touch his head at lights out and I noticed it looked like one of his teeth may have looked black next to the funny spot, and the spot looked a bit darker after a bath.
I was wondering if this spot looked like mouth rot, or just stuck shed. it does appear that since i put honey on it he's retained a bit of face shed, but the tooth bothers me. His mouth is otherwise pink, and there doesn't appear to be any plaque of any sort nor any sticky saliva. I got a good look when he gaped and hissed at me, so rude of him.
I am currently calling around to see if I can find a vet who knows beardies in my area, I'm hoping I can in suburban NY, we have a thing about instant gratification around here and I demand there be an excellent beardy vet right near me who is open on sundays(yea i know, no way in heck). Any suggestions until I can get him into the vet? I will try to get a pic of his tooth tomorrow if I can without stressing him too much
