Does my beardie need a background?

Rigs is happy and everything is normal this is my first dragon so I am new, i just think it seems to be an odd behavior. Occasionally he/she will be running on the side of the tank like he/she wants to be out or sometimes i think wants to climb on the cord he/she thinks is inside the tank, also sometimes sees the crickets reflections and aims for them first lol, funny but is this normal? Is it because I don't have a background? Thanks for taking the time any help would be so appreciated (sorry for the paragraph).

Beardies will often attempt to interact with their reflections in the glass or try to push through the glass, because they don't see it and don't understand the whole concept of "transparency". They seem to "get it" a bit better as they get older and more familiar with their home. Putting a background or even just plain paper can help a little with reducing the reflections, but isn't really necessary.

Thanks is it also normal that he tries to climb to the top of his cords he shoots for ones on the outside and sometimes hangs on the thermometer cord should i grab him a branch or vine to chill on that close to the top.? Here is a pic

Young beardies especially seems to like to climb. Once they're adults they get kind of fat and lazy and won't climb as much. There's no harm in him getting close to the top of the viv so long as it's not right near the heat lamp where he could burn himself. So putting a branch or a vine in there could be a great idea. Just be sure to disinfect it first.
