Does My Beardie Have Tail Rot?

I bought Chip from Petco back in September. It's still a juvenile. Recently noticed its tail was dark like that. I thought it was just its natural coloration. Now I'm worried it may be something more serious? I'm also worried about that cut on its tail tip.

It's very healthy and has a very good appetite. Very active, however I'm a little concerned it doesn't sleep at night. It can be well around one AM when I check on it and it's wide awake... it may be because it's too bright in its cage at night, but I'm not sure? It's always full of energy, though.

(The reason I'm calling it and "it" is because I don't know its gender. Lol. Can anyone tell if its a female or male for me, or is it still too young to check?)

I can provide more photos, if needed! Thank you!

Hi there, he's a nice healthy looking dragon. :) Dark tail is normal, esp. before a shed. The little knick on the tail tip may have been from a cagemate or caught in a door/lid...it may fall off with no problem. Just keep an eye on it, but it shouldn't be a problem.

You should not have any light at all in the night, no red or blue, nothing. If the temp. goes below 65 you can get a ceramic heat emitter that produces heat but no light.

I can probably sex it for you. Put her flat on a table or on your palm. Arch the tail straight up in the air, almost like a dog that is excited. Snap a few pics and post them here.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I'll turn off the light tonight and keep an eye on the temps. Around what time should I turn it off each day?

Should I post a photo like this one? Or from a different angle? (I got this photo off of Google.):

Yes, that's perfect....the angle shows the hemipenes very well. You can snap a couple.
You should have the lights on for 14 hrs. a day, however it works for you.

Haha, I thought so, thanks so much!

Will this mean I'll have to worry about her being infertily gravid in the future?

They are all different, some lay in their first year, others may not lay a clutch until 7-8 yrs. old. You will have to wait + see but as long as she's well fed, always has proper uvb + calcium supplements she should have no problem.

Awesome. One more question, sorry. I already dust with calcium with D3 every other feeding and gut-load my feeders with fruits and vegetables, but should I also use vitamin supplements too?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
