I currently feed my beardie crickets, but I have heard of a lot of people who do not feed their beardie crickets and was just curious as to everyones thoughts on this! I've heard time and time again of the link of parasites and crickets...any thoughts?

No crickets here. He gets dubias, butterworms, Phoenix worms, superworms and occasional waxworms, but no crickets. I read the same thing about parasites, plus they are a pain. My beardie hasn't had parasite issues though!

So those worms and dubia could be used as an alternative "staple" live food?
Also where to get them at? I'm trying not to spend a ton of money.
Thanks :)

You can google any of these worms or dubias and online stores will pop up.
Here's where I get mine:
http://Www.elliotsbutterworms.com
http://Www.reptiworms.com (same as Phoenix worms)

The dubias I bought from a person on Craigslist, you might check there. I'm breeding them now so I haven't bought them in a while. I used to buy from http://www.buydubiaroaches.com

Super worms and waxworms I just get from Petco bc I only use them occasionally. They are more like my filler when I'm between shipments or dubias.

This will be our LAST week with crickets. No more. They're such a hassle and the amount of money we are spending to feed out 8 week old little guy is incredible. Just started ordering dubias and worms online. I can't wait!

Are dubias hard to keep alive?
I saw a video on youtube and they looked NASTY.

They are easier to keep alive then crickets. Some dibias can live for up to 2 years. They don't smell like crickets, don't jump all around like crickets and have more protein then crickets do. With all that I am sold to stop with the crickets and start with dubia and worms. :D

i did for the first month but then she got bored of them. i know feed her calci worms, dubia roaches, locusts and the silkworms.

Mine eats crickets. He was given to me several months ago from a friend and is an adult. I have been trying to get him to convert to dubias for months and he just spits them out. I would love to ditch the crickets as my other reptiles eat dubias instead. Dubias are super easy to keep and breed.

My guy is picky though. He also wont eat veggies. I have tried everything and he just wont eat any veggies. Only insects.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
