Do Parasites explain slow growth?

Hey everyone,
I have a 5 month old Red Leatherback who's only 11 inches. I found out my feeding was not ample, so I switched him to Phoniex worms and he has been getting his complete fill for the past 2 weeks. He poops regularly, and is shedding now. I posted a thread a week or two back about this, and after I switched him to Phoniex Worms, he's at 11 inches right now, and he was only 9 inches when I posted the other thread! So he is growing, but could parasites also be playing a part? For those who had slow growers, did checking for parasites help at all?

He MAY have parasites, but 2 inches in two weeks is a great growth rate. But it is worthwhile the get him checked within the first few months of ownership anyways.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
