Do male bearded dragons become aggressive?

I was just wondering if male bearded dragons become aggressive after reaching sexual maturity like male cats if they aren't neutered beforehand. My bearded dragon will be 4 months old in a couple of days and he is 11 inches long and weighs 2 ounces. He eats a diet of 50% crickets and 50% greens. I feed him crickets in a separate container but I leave the greens in a dish in his cage. I work 12 hour shifts but I make sure I hold him for at least an hour in the morning and at least an hour at night He is so sweet and loves being held but I assume he will be starting puberty soon and was just wondering if he will become aggressive.

They can become aggressive toward other dragons but not usually toward humans. They go through a phase (varying degrees) in which they are hyperactive and skittish but they don't usually act aggressively toward people. After this phase they tend to calm down quite a bit compared to when they were younger.

At about what age does this happen?

It varies depending on their growth. I see it most often between about 8-12 months but that's not a fast rule. It lasts anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple months usually. Best thing to do is just wait it out and give him lots of room to run around and explore.

Male beardies usually do not become aggressive towards humans, I would not worry so much especially since you are holding and interacting with him. ( they get a bit grumpy during a shed, but it doesn't extend past that)
