Here's my current feeding schedule:

Greens every day

dubia roaches every 1 to 2 days

mealworms once a week

My question is if I have to feed them greens every day? Getting fresh greens around here is a pain sometimes. And they only seem to like mustard greens.

I thought I read somewhere that even feeding every 2 or 3 days is OK.

Any suggestions on if I HAVE to feed greens every day?

BTW, they DO have clean water every day.

Thanks all...

Adults can go a day between meals if necessary but they really should get greens daily. My girl really only likes mustard too which makes it difficult as no local stores carry it. I'm going to try and mix in either escarole or romain next time I buy greens and see if I can start to get her eating more variety.

my local $0.99 carry mustard but only thing is its a 4 mile drive and the traffic is sooo bad everytime i go (makes it worst for my 240sx. hate driving 5speed with traffic). i try to buy as much as i can for the week since i give em fresh daily. It adds up and it gets expensive.

Have either of you considered growing it yourself? I hear they're not that hard to grow, and I think mustard and collard are winter leafy green vegetables.

I wish I could find mustard for only .99, I pay nearly $4 for a bunch and I'm lucky if it lasts a week.If you have the room, growing your self really is easy. I grow greens in the summer but its too cold in the winter to do so. Turnip greens is another cold hardy variety, as long as its about 50F they will grow.

Great idea about growing!! I think I'll check into that.

I already have a dubia roach colony going so I might as well be totally self-sufficient!!

Yea, the grocery stores usually ahve it, but 80% of the time it's crappy quality. All saggy and wilted.
I use a trick that the produce guy told me: Cut an inch off the end of the stalk and soak in cold water for about 15 minutes. Then thoroughly rinse and put in plastic bag in fridge.

This has worked wonders for some sad looking greens!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
