Do dubias bite?

I am thinking about switching to dubias and ditching the crickets .
I know that crickets will/can bite a beardie if they are left in the enclosure overnight .
So what I am wondering if dubias will also bite a beardie if one is forgotten in the enclosure overnight.

Nope. But it's always good to take out feeders anyway just so they don't potentially escape into the house or something.

I agree with Skepti and just wanted to add one or two things:

Dubia's are excellent at hide & seek, therefore if they're left in your tank for more than a few minutes, they'll squeeze into the smallest and darkest of spots so your beardie wont even know they're there, thus defeating the purpose.

The other thing is if you have a glass tank as an enclosure, they might be able to climb up the silicone sides; especially babies, since they have extremely grippy(?) feet and can climb up surfaces that larger dubia's can't.

I love them as feeders though! They're so perfect

I have read that some people use a special dish to put the dubias in that they can't climb out . Can you give me more info on this type of dish?

sure! Any container that has smooth sides, they can't climb out of. Just try out different ones!

They don't bite, they can't climb out of smooth dishes, and they are 3x the protein for your beadie! =] Just keep in mind that they do drown easily if they get into a shallow water dish that they can't climb out of! Hope all is well!

I have an old ceramic dog bowl that I use to put my dubia in for Riley. It is just tall enough that the dubia can't escape and just short enough that Riley can see them and get in there to eat. Plus its nice big (to him) so he isn't getting a few in his mouth when he goes to eat them up.
