I know theres lots of debate with what beadies feel and dont. But the other day i had my new baby beardie Dahlia out and she was just laying on my chest and i was petting her. My older beardie Daisy was laying across my bed on a pillow. She slowly crawled over and cuddled herself on my chest. She always lays on her pillow and never moves. Did she just get Jealous of the baby?

I don't know if they get jealous or not but they are territorial. Be careful with your baby if a bigger dragon is around, no matter how sweet and cuddly they are. We had our most cuddly, docile dragon lunge at our new baby the other day and it was a close call! I will never have them on the bed together or on my lap together ever again. That is not a chance I want to take. It was so fast and scared the...out of me. It doesn't mean the bigger one is a bad animal, but they do follow instinct. Be careful.

Yes i totally understand. I never leave them alone and very rarely take them out together. Just then one is sleeping. She just cuddled with her head under my chin and showed no interest in the lil one. She just ignores her. Sorry to here about your lil scare. Im very careful when it comes to them being around each other and avoid it most of the time.

It scared me and the baby so bad that I slept that night with the baby in a box on my bed and fed her waxworms as a treat. The worms seemed to do the trick because she is perfectly fine now and happy as ever. Frankie was resting on the bed and I was just carrying the baby back to her viv so she wouldn't be around Frankie, but being a baby, she jumped and landed on the bed. I could never imagine my sweet Frankie being agressive but it only took a split second and she lunged. Thankfully my son and I were both there. Phew.

I used to have two boys where one was definitely jealous over the other.
Felix was a very social beardie. He loved to be around people and get snuggles. Oscar, on the other hand, was very independent and hated to be "loved" (or so he pretended to be).
Well, one day, Oscar decided to be cuddly and was sitting on my then-husband's lap and Felix caught sight of this and flew (literally) across the couch and pounced on Oscar. He head bobbed and black bearded like it was going out of style. Poor Oscar was scared to death and ran up to the back of the couch, to which Felix quickly followed. Of course, Felix got a good talking to and we had to work with him for awhile to not have a repeat jealous rage.

My Daisy didnt show any agression towards the baby.. She just layed on my chest snuggled her head under my chin and dosed off.. Ive noticed since i got Dahlia that Daisy is has a tendency to cuddle more. She so funny. SHe creeps up to me slowly. Takes a few steps and stops looking at me before she climbs on me to cuddle. I have to say owning beardies has been one of the most rewarding pets i every had!!!

I didn't know beardies could get jealous but apprently so! Its a territorial thing I guess. Learn somthing new everyday. :study:

I agree. Beardies are the most rewarding pets I have ever had, and I don't ever remember having pets that I loved more than my beardies. I have had dogs, cats, rats, etc.
Beardies are a whole lot of work for sure, but so totally worth every minute of it.

I would love to say it is jealousy! My beardie Harry gets all riled up when my 1 year old granddaughter comes to visit and sits with me. Harry doesn't like her at all. He black beards her and everything. This little girl is the sweetest thing too. She adores watching harry and has never tried to harm him. It is weird, he loves my 4 year old daughter, but acts like he despises my poor granddaughter. Now if Bella is sitting across the room or looks into his cage and is no where near me then he is fine. It's only when I am holding her or she is sitting on my lap. He must feel like this small human is taking over or something.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
