Do Beardies bond with people?

tonight when I was trying to make some changes in Pogi's tank, I held him for a while. Then asked my son to hold him while I tried to see about hanging his fluorescent light fixture inside his tank. When I had Pogi he was calm, but after awhile I heard my son asking me to come get him because he was getting frisky. My son is very gently with animals but gets a little panicky if they appear to be too active. So instead of getting him I asked my husband to help out and hold Pogi until I finished what I was doing. Within a few minutes later my husband says come get Pogi because he is hyper. Apparently Pogi wanted to go exploring and was leaping out of their hands onto the couch. So I went over and scooped him up and just held him close like I always do and stroked his head and back. Pogi began to settle into my hand and was seemingly content. My husband and son just stared at me and said that they think Pogi likes me best.

So, do bearded dragons bond with certain people? I do handle him the most, and feed him, and sit by his tank and talk to him while I eat my breakfast. If it is true I think that is sweet but I also don't want to discourage my family from trying to bond with him as well. I already have 9 other pets who are 'bonded' with me...I was hoping Pogi would be more like a 'family' pet and just a 'mama's boy' :)

I don't know if any research has been done, but my dragon feels more secure clinging to my girlfriend than he does to me, but that could just be on account of her boobs providing a more secure perch than my flat chest.

He does seem to associate both of us with safety. When we've sat outside on our porch in the summer and a noise scares him (low flying planes are probably terrifying gleaming birds in his mind), he'll crawl up off our our legs and stiffly cling to our chests.

It could be possible that he associates safety with your scent, as opposed to your husband's or son's.

I do wear a certain body spray so perhaps that is why. For Pogi is especially calm the closer he gets to my shirt. One day I swear he was even nuzzling it like he was getting ready to fall asleep...which he did do. Maybe if I spray my husband and son with the scent he might feel better with them. Might be an interesting experiment.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
