I got my bearded dragon as a baby, shes still young. No one but my in my household plays with her or talks to her and I'm a girl so my voice ain't low, but she takes a strong liking to my boyfriend who has a deeper voice. Shes only met him twice, but loves him. She also like guy's voices on tv, that's the only time she'll close both her eyes (same with my boyfriend). My friend had a beardie for many years and he always loved her my mom's boyfriend's voice and her brother's voice. Do most beardies like deep voices/guys the most?

I've actually read that a beardie closing his or her eyes is a sign of stress, not relaxation, but I'm a new beardie owner so I will let someone more experienced weigh in on that!

However, I will say that when I am letting my beardie roam around in the bathroom with me (he's still small so that's his only area of free roam at the moment), my husband sometimes sits in with us. And despite the fact that I feed, bathe, carry, hydrate, and care for my beardie almost exclusively, he always goes over to my husband, burrows under his legs, climbs up his hands, etc. and generally seems to prefer him. Our theory is that my husband is a lot warmer than I am, because he generates a ton of body heat and I don't.

This is just my opinion based off my experiences with animals, but I think most animals prefer a 'deeper' voice in the sense that it's not as high pitched and irritating as a higher pitch. Higher pitched voices tend to drive most mammals crazy, so I wonder if it could be the same to reptiles. No scientific fact to support any of this, just my opinion. :)

Onceblue - I love it! Your husband is like a walking heat source!

I read that when a beardies closes its eyes that mean it trusts you. When beardies are young they have black lines on their belly/beard/ tail (underside) and when they become stress the lines get darker. When not stressed you can't really see them. The deep voice makes sence now I think about it. My mom had a dog that took orders when you made your voice deeper and my cat don't understand he did something bad unless you deeped your voice to yell at him

He really is! I'm kind of jealous, only because he gets so much attention for it!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
