Diy cage help

So for Christmas I wanted to build by beardie Dexter a bigger cage than his 40 gal breeder. I have always wanted front opening doors, but I don't want sliding glass doors. I'm just making two front opening doors on hinges with glass and wood framing. But I need help with the wood and sealing. I was planning on using plywood and then covering the inside with tiles, so do I still need sealer if I attach the tiles all around the inside?
