This thread has gone astray...its almost like saying feeders are treated inhumanely when we feed them alive to bearded dragons...umm, they aren't human, so duh! lol. The point is, that the dude totally killed the lizard when it was unnecessary. I think it is awesome when my dragon chomps on roaches, crickets, and (once) a pinkie, but that is necessary for my dragon.

I saw it last night, very disgusting and i'd enjoy hanging that guy over a croc and giggling til I dropped him in

Did anyone else see the one of the ****** twirling the dragon to make it dizzy?? it's sickening how much fun they find in it when the poor thing flops around.

That is true he killed the lizard for no reason. Now if he had one of those small green snakes that eat small lizards and bugs that would be justified. Some animals need to eat other things to survive when that is the case live feeders are needed other wise they are not needed.

I have some of my lizards trained not to eat stuff alive. I have a water dragon where for him to eat the bug I have to kill it first. Since I have not feed him anything live even the fresh feeders I do buy are dead by the time they get to him. I have found doing so has made my water dragon real tame. He was not tame when I would feed him insects alive. He would tear you're hands to shreads with his claws when you would pick him up.

Now my issue is when I pick him up he clings to me and I have trouble putting him back in his cage. I put fish in his pond because I had not to much worry about him eating them but I still used feeder fish just in case. Well those are lucky feeder fish they were never eaten and they have gotten to over 6 inches each.

But even so some animals need live bugs. Even though I cut my beardies down on the live they still get some live. I have gotten them to eat more greens and bearded dragon food which I put over there salad as croutons. I also throw some freede dried and canned bugs and mix it into there salad as well. But even so the bugs were still at some point killed. Ok I laugh when my beardies run after them and go insane when I dump the crickets or meal worms or silk worms in there cage.

My bearded dragons go insane when they see a live bug. Who would not find it funny to see a beardie chassing after a cricket with his tongue hanging out try and not laugh. I have had friends come over with crickets to see my guys go nuts with them because it looks so funny.

Goodness me this thread has taken on quite a life of its own!

Id just like to say that I did not object to the 'live prey' but I objected to the taunting and dangling of the tiny lizard and the manic laughter, which seemed to make the thing peverse.

i personally have no problem with feeding my guys live food. mine get a number of different foods crickets, silkworms, meal worms, pinkies, wax and butter worms. in the wild they eat whatever they can get a hold of. i dont sit there and laugh when they eat. but i do enjoy watching them eat.

I notice this all the time with outrageous videos on you tube. They disable the ability to comment because they know there video has something big time wrong with it and they know all comments will be of people telling them so. I am not just talking about the vid mentioned. There is some really messed up stuff on you tube.

I've started flagging those type of video's, if enough flag them they'll get erased and maybe those freaks will decide it's not worth putting them online.

In reference to the mention of serial killer, that is how Jeffery Dauhmer started out, killing animales then that got boring. :puke:

Now that is a good plan but allot have to flag for it to work. I would sure do that and I do report horrible vids like that.

There feeder anoles....but the giggling ya thats weird.

Well the thing is they are using feeder anoles for an animal that does not require them.

Yea, this makes me sick.

I saw a vid of people dangling a beardie by a tail and poking it with a stick. Let's just say that I and a number of other people bashed them so hard they never made another vid.

On a higher note, did you know bearded dragons can act? A man has a vid of his dragon in the tub. The dragon is swimming and then becomes completely still and floats in the water on it's side for over two minutes. it has "drowned" At that point, most people have put a mean comment and exited the video. But I fastforwarded to the end and the man says "come here!", and the bearded dragon automatically gets up and swims to him and climbs his arm! I started giggling because he had me so worried! That is one talented dragon!

I once had 50 pet anoles in a huge cage. The store was selling them as feeders I bought all 50 and gave them a good home. Never had to clean the cage had the cage set up to look like a rain forest the plants grew allot from all the lizard poo. Also I have feeder fish in my water dragons pond. He never ate them and they grew and are nor 6 inches long each.

Using feeder animals is ok when a animal needs it. When I had a big fish that was a carnivore I feed the fish feeder fish but I never laughed about the fish getting torn apart which the big fish had a habit of doing. Oh and when the feeder anoles would die of old age I would feed them to my water dragon. One day he seen me getting a old anole out of the cage that died and he seemed to be begging me for it. I mean he was scratching at the wall and looking at it and licking his chompers. So I opened the door and my water dragon actually jumped on me and ate it.

Some of those anoles lived for a long time. Others possibly died since feeder animals are not cared for well.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
