Digging like a maniac!

My year (and a half) old female beardie, Ivy keeps clawing her way through substrate like something from Minecraft. She barely even stops to eat and it's really bothering me.
I originally thought it was the substrate I was using (Brown parcel wrap) since she was shredding it up in seconds and scraping on the bare glass after about half an hour. But now I put sand on top of the paper and she's trying to dig a circle to lie down in. She's still digging at the paper underneath, though and still won't stop. She hasn't even shed since the summer and didn't have a bowel movement for a month before her bath today. It's like she's at war with her tank floor.
I think she may be trying to lay eggs even though she's not been near any male beardies since I got her as a baby and picked her out from the rest of her clutch. Any other ideas or suggestions for what I should do if she is trying to lay?

Cheers in advance.

Good chance she is wanting to lay, they don't have to be breed to make eggs. Get a deep box and fill it a few inches with damp sand, a kitty litter pan should work.

I'll try and give it a go but we have two cats and two dogs and I don't want her getting stressed out with them watching her.

Okay, so I've filled a washing up bowl with wet sand and put her hide on top. She's only been in there five minutes and she's already at the bottom. There's a good five or six inches in there and she's still not settled.

*update*
She's been laying for a good few hours now. She's starting to bury the result but I won't move them for a while yet. Maybe a day or so. She's being quite protective.

About how often do these things happen? Watching the first time has been harrowing enough. Lol.

Great that she layed them right away, once she is done you can take them away. She shouldn't protect them at all. Freeze the eggs overnight then toss them.
They can lay multiple times a year, expect another clutch in 1-2 months.

Yikes, that soon?

Anyway, I've counted them out. There were thirteen but one burst. The whole ones I've put in a tupperware dish and placed that in a plastic bag because my mum wants to show them to the kids in the school she works at. A lady came in a few weeks ago with an adult and mum thinks they'd like to see where the babies hatch from. I took some pictures so I'll put those up soon.

As for Ivy, she's getting a well-deserved rest. She's lying on her heat rock, eating chopped apple and watching TV. She can't be bothered to hunt for crickets right now.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
