Digging help?

My bearded dragon tore up his substrate this morning. I use cabinet mats as his substrate and I was wondering if there was another substrate that I could use so he could dig. I have some vitamin sand, but I heard bad things about it so I don't use it. Also, there is a possibility that he might be brumating so he has been hiding and digging alot. Any suggestions?

You can try getting a shallow tub or small kitty litter pan and filling it with alfalfa pellets or millet seed. This will give him a safe place to dig around.

Are you certain your dragon is a male?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
