Dig Box?

Since I switched to paper towels, Tiberius has been antsy and wanting to dig a lot. He's shredding the paper towel substrate I use and it's rather hard to clean up.
Can I make some sort of box for him to dig in? Like a shoebox with some sand in it?
I just get worried about loose substrate and him getting impacted. I'm guessing that he's about 2 years old based on his size and the fact that I've had him for about a year now.

You could try a substrate thats a bit more permanent, like tile or non-adhesive shelf liner.

But putting in a box of sand kind of defeats the purpose of removing it in the first place IMO.

Try placing a bundled up towel or shirt into his hide or something so that he can dig and snuggle into that.

A box full of alfalfa pellets would make an ideal dig-box, and the pellets themselves are completely digestible. I use something similar for my female.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
