diet advice for a beardy newbie?? :D

hiya! im becky and i got my first BD today! i just need some advice on what to feed him/her?
ive been told to give a few crickets every other day with fresh veggies given in between, sprinkled in calcium powder and left for two days. the veggies i was told were broccoli, carrot etc chopped up.
ive been looking online and says about greens being part of a daily diet, like dandelion greens and things.i wasnt told about them. what are they? where do i get them? do i need to feed them?
if anyone could give me an idea of a daily diet for a baby beardie, as in what to feed when and how much that would be AMAZING!

Ok for the diet, yes a few pin head crickets dusted with reptivitamins, the pet stores feed small meal worms. Some will argue that they are bad and in some Beardie cases they are so stick with the small crickets. If you can feed him in a seperate tank that would be awesome. When you feed him, feed him as much as he can eat. Being that he is a baby he will probably not eat many greens. The greens you can find at the super markets. If you buy a spring mix or sautee mix, you can chop them it into small pieces. Both mixes have many varieties greens in them. I would stay away from Brocolli and carrots for now, and stick with leafy greens. It will be easy for your little guy to get impacted. And this is not good.

I am not sure what wood chips you have, but they can stay moist and cause mold and mildew. Also because they can stay moist you little guy can get a respiratory disease. And some of the wood chips or shaving will have dust and this can do the same. Rule of thumb for baby beardies for the floor of the enclosure use newspaper, paper towels, or green reptile carpet.

also i would like to put in even though mike covered most of it your baby looks about 4-5 weeks and should be eating about 30-35 crickets a day. not a few every other day. when he is full grown that may be okay but not at this age. by the time there about 8 months (others correct me if i am wrong) he would be eating about 80 crickets a day. i know my 11 week old eats about 40-50 a day and if he really wanted to he could eat 55.

Lilly is correct, I did not realize that I did not state every day. Thanks for looking out Lilly. I once bought a 100 large crickets from the pet store when my Beardie was 1 year old. In 2 days I fed him all crickets, and he still ate greens and some super worms. So around a year he was eating roughly 50 crickets plus super worms and greens. So Lilly's math is spot on, however keep in mind that all Beardies are different.

Secondly, disregard everything the pet store told you.

1) I would get baby beardie off of those chips ASAP. Babies should
Not be on any loose substrate because they are messy and love to luck everything and will getting blocked up inside. Highly suggest tile or reptile carpet or newspaper or paper towel as a substrate much safer. Also wood chips are extremely dangerous and cause infections

2) at first beardie may not eat much because she is probably suffering from regiment stress. When he gets his or her appetite back, allow him to eat as many crickets (space between there eyes) as they can in 10-15 minutes. If you do not allow them to do this and only feed a few every other day, beardie will be starving. It is so frustrating that they suggest that.
