Dexter... 3 years old and never knew what heat was.

We got all the "kids" their blankets at Target. They have the cutest baby blankets ever!

Lucky babys! My hubby refused to let me get those darling blankies at target! I had to go buy fleece at the fabric store and make ours :shock: I think your babys look so comfy all wrapt up. Heck i think our babys sleep better than we do LOL

Today for breakfast Dexter ate 15 medium sized hornworms! Big guy is getting quite the appetite! Just about time for him to snuggle up and get some rest. 8 p.m. bed time.

I love the blankets at Target! What I think I am gonna do though is they LOVE their hammocks, so I am going to go to the fabric store and pick out some nice soft fabric and make each of them a hammock.

Well time to put the babies in bed, lol one of them is napping on me right now curled up under my pullover hoodie. Goofy little ones.

Dexter has this HUGE patch of shed starting to form on his shoulders! I can't wait for all of it to come off. It is though, bit by bit.

Wow, sorry it has been 2 weeks since an update on Dexter. Things are crazy here, I am working non stop with it being tax season. Yuck, is it over yet? Lol. Ken started a new job with Cincinnati Bell. Then all this nasty snow. So we have had our hands full.

Ok, Dexter is on his second round of Betryl for his mouth sore. Other than that perfect health!! We are going through almost a FULL body shed at the moment. He is slightly cranky at the moment but this will shortly pass. I can't tell when the poor guy had shed last. He is still eating like a horse, lol. Loves the hornworms.

We are starting to work on developing some muscles. His back legs are still weak but things take time. We are getting him out no less than once a day to get some much needed exercise. He is starting to get used to taking baths finally. He turns this really pretty bright grey color when he is happy.

I am waiting for my battery in my camera to charge a little so I can pull some pictures off of it and post them. He is now in his forever home! He seems to be much happier since he can actually move around in his viv! I am so pleased with his progress.

You are angels to take Dexter in and what a great job! Loved the video of him attacking his babyfood on the spoon & the pics of Dexter's new home, what a beauty, I'm jealous LOL!
The pics of him shedding all that dead shed is wonderful and the fact that he's eating greens and worms is also wonderful, I bet he thinks he is in beardie heaven. Yes, it's funny how dragon poop is such good news, I'm so glad he's got a clean bill of health. It's amazing that he wasn't in worse shape considering the lack of care. His previous owners did a great thing, giving him to you, he'll have a great life now.

I also love the blankie, he looks so comfy sleeping & I loved the stink-eye, I mean, really, how could you keep him from sleeping? :roll:

Our 6 dragons wish Dexter as much love as they get, we are great beardie slaves and they all know it!

I'm glad he's getting the hang of pooping in the bath, we have 5 out of 6 beardies that poop in the tub. Rubio, our youngest, absolutely refuses, so he still has newspaper in his viv.

I read through the whole thread and had tears in my eyes, Dexter reminds us so much of our rescue Angel, only she does have severe MBD. We did the same thing with her as you're doing with Dexter, and she's doing very well. The only extra thing we had to do for Angel was give her liquid calcium daily. We got her in March and we're still giving her calcium daily, her bones are getting stronger every day.

Bless you again for all the love you're giving Dexter, it's that and the great care you're giving him that's allowing him to heal. He'll be fat and sassy soon enough!

Update on Dexter: Took him to the vet again, couldn't get that sore in his mouth to go away. So we got another round of anibiotics and a mouth rinse solution. I tell you what he doesn't like it much but so far so good. We are almost finished with a 3/4 body shed, poor guy is shedding his head right now. Grumpy.

Other than that he's still going strong, eating good and getting some exercise every day.

Thank You every one for all the kind words. We wouldn't have been able to get this far with Dexter if it wasn't for everyone here.
