Dented scales?

Hey everyone! I’ve noticed on the top of my beardies head, he’s got a few scales that seem “dented” or concave.. like a U shape. Anyone have this or know what it is? He’s just over 2 years old.. he’s been eating totally fine, acting normal and getting his supplements so I’m unsure what it is! I will insert photos when I get a chance to get on my computer!

Some background info:

-he is 2 years old
-he's in a custom 4 ft by 2 ft by 2 ft melamine enclosure with tile (no substrate)
-his setup has been consistent since I've gotten him, no new decorations etc.
-I've got a 75 watt basking bulb and a t5 10.0 uvb
-basking spot sits just above 100, cool side is around 80

Sometimes they do get a strange pattern on their face near the slope of the " nose " but it's not a health problem or anything.

Hmmm... it almost looks like individual scales are concave not a general area.

Can you post some photos of what you're seeing? I agree that it's not uncommon for scales to have some unique characteristics such as being concave or jutting out a bit. So here's the photo.. I've circled where there are 2 dented scales. They're a bit hard to see in the photo, but in person they're pretty deeply concaved. There's also another one closer to the tip of his nose.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine and won't affect his health at all.

Okay, thanks for the quick reply! Even though they haven’t always been like that? I’ve just seen them start to develop recently.

That looks normal to me as well. Scales will change as they grow and as they shed so it's not a set thing. Generally if it doesn't look scabby or wounded it isn't a big concern.
