Dented patch of scales??

I see the area you're talking about. Has he had any kind of injury or anything there? Is there any discharge? Does the area feel harder or softer than the surrounding area? Does it seem to bother him if you touch it?

Doesn't bother him, no discharge. Clear eyes and mouth and nostrils. I can't tell if it is soft, the area is much to small to check. It really didn't bother him at all when I tried, though.

Edit: As for injury, I don't THINK so. I keep my room door tightly closed when I go to work because my mom has a cat, but sometimes she brainfarts and forgets to keep it shut after going through my room to a storage area. So I guess there is the possibility of cat scratch. (FYI: In the past two days I have been keeping the screen/lid on because I found out about said brain farts.

was he injured ever? maybe before you had him it looks kinda like a scar

No, it was always fine until I noticed it suddenly a couple days ago.

That's very odd that it would appear so suddenly. What I would do is keep a very close eye on it. If the discolouration starts spreading or if the area changes in any other way, he will need to go to the vet.
