Hey LILO.
Hydration is very simple. Feeding cricket is also simple.
I am assuming your beardie is young. So this information will be for young/ baby beardies.
First off. Crickets. Crickets will give little
hydration to a beardie regardless of gut loading. Gut loading is a term of feeding
Crickets nutrition that your beardie will altimatley gain
From eating them. Beardies need calcium and D3. I would order sole crickets and put them in a 10 gallon tank. Purchase flukers gel found at any pet store for 3 bucks. That covers the crickets
hydration. Also purchase a small bag of cricket calcium diet. That's food for the crickets and that is what guy loads them. You could also place greens in for the crickets as a replacement of they're diet supplement.
Now on to you beardie!
Do not place a water dish in the enclosure for it is easy access for bacteria to live. Place your beardie in a Luke warm tub,
Sink, bowl, or dish every other day. Make it shallow enough for it to stand but deep enough to soak its body a little. He will drink the water if he wants. Beardies skin does get pale and wrinkly at times due to shedding. It never hurts to soak them every day either when you have a miniture to spare. It doesn't take long. Mine soak for a few minutes then try to escape the bowl or sink so i place them back in the cage.
If you choose not to gutload crickets. Feel free to dust with a calcium D3 powder once a day until they are adults. Then it is okay to dust 2-3 times a day.
Keep us updated on your beardie and don't hesitate to ask any more questions that you may have.
