Decent tail nip on poor baby :(

I believe it happened last night after the evening feed as when I found the poor baby the tissue was looking pretty dead I'm familiar with what to do as I've read many posts on nips to prepare but now that it's happened I'm unsure. I have seperated the baby, clean paper towel with heat and UVB, I have Vaseline to keep the tail hydrated and when it falls off I would put the unpasteurized honey on the stub until it heals. Please give any advice you have for me, I'm quite heartbroken and feel awful it happened.

Poor lil' dude, sad when that happens. You can apply raw honey right away. It will moisturize + help to heal or keep infection to a minimum. I can't see close enough if it looks like it will fall off.

It's a dark grey and mangled at the end, the rest is dark and still looks alive. I expect at least half of the injured part to fall off unfortunately I can get a better photo for you in a moment he spent some time cuddling with me (not sure if he was just in shock or if I was warm but he didn't want to go back) and I got him to eat 2 worms with me.

Even babies do alright with tail nips if they don't become infected and turn to tail rot. Eating is always a good sign....just see how it does + make sure infection doesn't spread up past the area that's currently affected. He should be O.K

Hope those two pictures are better what should I keep an eye out for if it becomes infected or get tail rot?

That looks like just the last 1/4-1/2" might fall off if anything. That's the best case scenario [ except evn better if none of it falls off ] Tail rot would be the damage moving up the tail even beyond the part that's initially been wounded.

He ate 15 more worms for me just now, active and basking properly. I think he will do well (PS, lights don't go off til 1 am and get turned on at 11am)

Poor guy, that couldn't have felt very good! It sounds like he is feeling just fine though, especially if he ate well.
The honey will help a lot, so hopefully it wont get infected. As suggested, just watch the area to be sure any infection doesn't travel upward on the tail. If you keep it clean then maybe it will just be the very tip that falls off.

So the tail piece that was black and mangled has fallen off, though as I checked on him I saw another from that group is missing a part of his tail. What do I do? how will I find the one that is mangling baby tails? I feel like such a bad beardie mom that it happened again and I'm panicking a bit now :/
