So if I can't find a place that sells the roaches so the next step would be to breed them. Do I really need a heat source to breed them? Is there an alternate way to attract heat? I was pumped when I heard heat "tape"

:: Proper temperature. As mentioned earlier the temperature should be at least 68 degrees for your dubia's to breed. As a general rule I like to keep the temperature between 75 and 85 degrees but they can tolerate temperatures into the mid 90's and still continue to breed.
I know I run in celsius but 68 is 20 degrees, 22.5 is room temperature, and I know I keep my house warmer than typical room temperature year round. The summer definitely warmer as I'm fighting the heat more than welcoming it but in the winter I run on radiator heat on timers so I go through a period at around 8am where it turns on and the place becomes very hot, so naturally at 7am, right before the heat cycle begins the place is at its coldest. This is still within room temperature though so I can only imagine I may breed more in the summer than the winter maybe, I don't know.
If they don't need to be connected to a heat source that would be great because where I want to keep them there is no nearby outlet.
