i have cut one to early and he survived. (it was a egg that went very long and had went completely flat during incubation and i was sure was not good. oops) just treat him as a premature baby. It should be fine if you keep that shell moiste. if it drys on him it could damage his skin. I had that happen, but it healed.
I ended up haveing to completely remove the shell cause it started to dry and get brittle.
watch it closely

He is completely out of the shell and not looking too good. He was moving around when i first cut the egg open but now there is no movement.

Day 97... Im at work now so hopefully when i get home there will be some action :blob5:

I have three eggs left over that have not hatched yet and they are on day 70/72. All the rest have been hatching for like a week and a half. When you candle them you should be able to clearly see a tail and if you hold the light long enough the baby will try to move away from it. I had one egg collapase two weeks before everyone else started to hatch, only they was what looked like instesines hanging out of the bottom of the egg. I thought for sure that something happend and the baby failed and then the egg failed. Once most of the babies hatched I decided to cut open the egg and see what was going on. To my suprise there was a fully formed dragon inside his embyro sack. So I left him alone and a few hours later he popped out. It took days for him to drop him umbilical and join his siblings. I'm holding out hope for this little guy since he's been the odds three times already.

Day 98...... Still no babies. Two of the eggs have collapsed and the other two are still firm. Candled all of them and there is still something in them. THE WAIT CONTINUES!!

The one that i cut the shell off of was starting to smell rotten so i threw him away RIP little dude!

I took these pics with my phone so they are not the best.

Also is it bad for them to come out of the shell tail first??? Everywhere i read the head comes out first. I don't want him to suffocate in there.

I ripped the egg open a bit so that his head was exposed and he looked up at me and gave me the WHOA face!!! So i put him into another container with a wet paper towel. He is not very active yet though.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
