Day 10

Just as I began to to think my baby beardie was settling it, he has been a bit odd the last day or so.

Hardly eating, looks scared of bugs and even got wedged between his log and the viv as if he was scared.

Only had 4 bugs in 24 hours and I'm worried he's not eating enough, especially when I need to go to work soon.

He seems to always hang out in the middle of the viv. Its 97°F at the hot end of his viv but is usually on his log or cactus in the middle by the glass.

Any advice is appreciated!

Can you post some current photos of him? It can take them a while to settle so it's not necessarily an issue. Are you measuring surface temps? 97 is ok for hot end but a little low for the basking site. If he's avoiding it anyway though, it's not likely an issue for the moment. Which UVB light do you have for him?

Thankfully I finished work early and got home in time to attempt another feed. He still seemed in the same trance as this morning and still scared of anything that moved.

Then...he scoffed down 23 crickets and all the stress marks left despite still being flighty.

UVB = 12% Arcadia D3+ reptile lamp.

The bulb is an excellent one. He looks nice and healthy so I think he is fine. I'm glad he finally dug into the crickets =)

Thank you. He's had 3 meals today and 1 tiny bit of veg.

Still scared of everything though!
