Darla 's Daily News

I finally decided on a name for my baby... Darla ( my dumb boyfriend callls her Darla Bert) which means Dear, Loved one.
I just hope she stays a girl now.

Darla hatched 7-11-12. I had preordered and been waiting since 5-18-12...that was a very long wait!! She finally got here 8-23-12. She was actually a surprise birthday present to myself

When she first got here she was a he and was 8 grams. After lots of peeking under his skirt...and lot
of stink eyes...I discovered HE was a SHE...see...

After lots and lots of trial and error and changing things around I think I finally got things right....for now anyway.

My first order of crickets came last week => EPIC FAIL!!! Most arrived dead..the rest escaped. I hope this week is better.

I have gotten the body flattening, the super scary Darla hiss, and even a cute lil baby bite to the finger.

Darla now weighs 13.5 grams.

Is his eyes huge? That's so cute! He looks like bug eyes anything that has big eyes are so cute.
Not making fun of him cuz my dragon has big eyes. I can't stop gushing over your new baby.

You should see then when he bulges them out... He looks like one of those bulgy eyed gold fish. He is short snouted so that might contribute??? Kinda looks like a little froggy... Lol. I dont know but hes just a lil sweetiepie!!

Mine is short snouted I thought at first he was a she, because the boys have a broader head than females.
Now I see males can have short snouts too..the eye thing oh man that is freaky I call it the tree frog effect.

I just mailed my virus test kits back to Tracie today. Crossing my fingers.

Yes they are ink... He came with them... No extra charge... Lol.

I just got my test kit in the mail. She only sent one. Im gonna see if i can get another swab from work. Fingers crossed for yours to be negative. Did she tell you how long it would take to get results? I just gotmy microscope and fecal test kit in the mail today... So im gonna test both of them. Tho maybe i should wait a bit for tbe new guy...?? Darla still isnt eating much.. Ugh. She does LOVE to watch the baby tho... She just sits and stares... Its cute.... She stares at him ( right outside his tank) he runs around lije a goif, and and my cat plays with Darlas tail.. All at once. Its funny. Wish i could a gotten a better pic but Zoe wasnt cooperating with the camera... Lol.

Ok... After much debate.. I decided to let my bf name him for his bday present... So his official new name is.... Drumroll please...........

Oh my goodness that pic is freaking adorable. He looks like some weird tree frog in that pic. I love big eyes on animals, he is just so cute. You are so lucky!

So.. A little update...
DARL
.... She is still barely eating. I treated her for ciccidia with Totrazuril x1. Ive been giving her probiotics here and there.. And sometimes reptaid. I put food in and she just stares... She eats maybe o ce a day when no one is around. She is 5 1/2 minths old and is only 80 grams. She spends the majority of ger time hiding. She no longer hisses, beards, gapes, or bites at me.. She trusts me now. But she just isnt well... And i dont know what to do. Im sending in the adenovirus test this week. She is still obviously NOT citrus. I think if she is positive i will send her back. Not because i dont love her.. I really do.. And ive spent so much time and money working with her. But i just cant handle going thru a sick and dying beardie again. Especially when i was never supposed to have this one in the first place .
Here she is showing me how angry she is that my cat is loking at her.. Lol

The best i could get of her coloring.... She is more orangey.. But inly when hiding.. Otherwise darker

And then Mr. KIRBY.... He is also. 5 1/2 mos old and catching up to Darla in weight. He was 37 gms when i got him but went thru a period of adjustment... So didnt eat alot. Now he is a good eater... But has high coccidia. Im doing reptaid right now. He is 65gms and im about to switch him to his big boy exo terra cage. He still runs away everytime i try to pick him up, but is fine once i have him. He doesnt bear
