Darkened Tail

For a while the end of Gork's tail for a few inches has been darker than the rest, and I have attributed that to the skin not shedding there. From what I understand that condition makes this occur, and the last time his tail shed I took note that that area did not. He has not suffered any injury to the tail as I know of historically or that I can see.

Quite recently, however, I've noticed it's gotten suddenly darker for no clear reason. Is there a problem I'm not aware of? And if it's just a shedding issue, how can I make it shed? I give him baths a couple times a week but they never seem to effect anything.

My beardie's tail has been doing the same. Look at my post also under health called "shedding problem." Hopefully you can find answers there, I also have pic's posted.
