So my Beardie has some tail problems I need help fixing them. She has always had problems with her dark tail since I got her about 2 months ago. I have been soaking her tail in betadine for 5 minutes then putting Walgreens brand antibiotic ointment with no pain relief. Her tail seemed to get lighter almost normal. Then I was gone for a week and my mom took care of her but she never bathed her. When I came back her tail was way darker then it used to be. So I started doing the treatment again this time it’s slower getting back to normal and I used a toothbrush to rub it in the bath. I also noticed some what looks like pink under her gray scales so I’m wondering if that’s raw under her scales but the scales are gray above the pink. She has orange on her and she just shedded her full body today. She is 16.5 ounces and she eats as many dubia (which I just switched to instead of crickets) as she wants usually over 10 each meal. I have the reptisun 10 tube and her warm side is 100-110 and cold 75-85.
**edit** every time you grab your tail and slowly move down you end up with black specs on your finger. This also happens when I use the toothbrush. Sorry forgot to add in.
Before I left. (Its still a tiny bit darker)

Now (a week of treatment) you can see where it looks like 2 bands that are tight around her tail.

It’s hard to see but where the normal hits the darker (a little lower too) there is a little pink underneath

That is quite a difference in color. Normally the dark tail wouldn't have me too concerned on it's own. It looks like the tail could be getting ready for a shed. If that's the case it should be able to shed and return to normal on it's own. You could apply some plain aloe to help it along but that's probably not necessary. I'd keep an eye out for signs of shed at the moment. I don't see damage although I'd avoid scrubbing the tail in case the skin gets a bit raw. That would be an invitation to infection.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
