Dark spots? Did shed skin get pulled off?

My beardie has been shedding throughout the week. I haven't pulled any of her skin. I gently run a tooth brush over it (very, very, very, gently). While in the bath she immediately started itching. She used her foot and scratched most of the skin off her head. I worry because she has dark spots all over her and I can't tell if that is scale damage or just normal. Some of the skin that came off her back wasn't translucent but rather dark. That worries me too. I will be back with a picture.
